Presenting the Sunnies Digest summer series with the women we’ve been crushing on all season—featuring Sandra Diola.

What's your ideal summer day?

Being outside and in nature—soaking up the sun, maybe taking a dip in any source of water like a river, pool, or even the ocean—and then coming home to shower and feel clean after a long day is one of the best feelings.

Tell us about a summer childhood memory.

Going to the beach with my cousins. We would go to Tambuli, collect all the hermit crabs we found on the ground, and make homes for them.

What does summer look or smell like for you?

It smells like a mix of chlorine and sunscreen. Summer, for me, looks like golden sunsets, sand between my toes, ripe mangos, and the sticky feeling on your hands after eating them.

Where would we find you on a typical summer day?

You would probably find me somewhere barefoot outside, possibly by the beach.

What is your go-to summer drink and snack?

Fresh buko juice or a mango shake.

Do you have a favorite summer movie, book, or song?

One of my favorite summer songs that I would listen to since I was a kid would probably be “Kiss Me” by Sixpence None the Richer Just has a good vibe.

What’s your favorite place to visit every summer and what is it usually like?

It's the Philippines! I love visiting my cousins’ restaurant, Matias, which has the best barbecue. Then we go to my lolo’s house in Barili and visit Mantayupan Falls to swim there.

Honestly, nothing compares to the beaches in the Philippines. The vibes are so free and chill—everyone's happy and just enjoying each other's company. The water is so clear and warm; it's like a hug, honestly. One of the beaches I'd love to visit here in the Philippines is Palawan. I haven’t been there yet, and I’d love to see its beauty. If I had to choose another one, maybe I’d go back to Siargao.

Are you a sunrise or sunset person?

I'm more of a sunset type of person. There’s something about the beauty and the colors that a sunset brings. After you’ve had such a fun day, it’s kind of like telling you, “Time to go home now! Remember the memories.” I just love watching sunsets with my friends.

What are your must-have summer items?

My cute Sunnies and Sunsafe. I feel like I can’t go anywhere without them.
